Vintage 1939 A.C. Gilbert Erector No. 10-1/2 Electric Train Set presented in its original blue metal case that shows heavy exterior wear with scuffs and scratches, original "kneeling boy" decal affixed. The interior features the original illustrated cardboard insert panel which displays gears, pulleys, and structural girders. The cardboard insert shows heavy edge/corner wear and does not stay attached to the interior lid clips. The set also includes the No. 420 black 2-4-2 locomotive, straight and curved track sections, transformer, motor, curved and straight girders, red and yellow base plates, boiler and part cans, and various small parts and hardware (many loose pieces in metal case). The locomotive shows playwear, however the wheels spin freely. No instructional manual present. Most parts show surface oxidation and use. The set has not been collated for completeness and is sold with what is shown. The case shows moderate surface wear, scratches, and paint loss. Case measures approximately 24 x 14 x 5 inches.
