Description
Vintage 1941/42 A.C. Gilbert Erector No. 10-1/2 Electric Train Set presented in a large blue metal case that shows heavy exterior wear with scuffs and scratches, original "kneeling boy" decal affixed. The interior features the illustrated cardboard insert panel marked "World's Champion No. 10? Electric Train Set," displaying gears, pulleys, radiator, and structural girders. The set also includes the streamlined No. 556 Royal Blue locomotive, straight and curved track sections, transformer, boiler, and much more. Most of the pieces on the top tray are loose, and set does not appear to be complete. Also included is an original "How to Make 'Em Book" instruction manual showing wear consistent with age, some pages are torn, taped, etc. Most parts show surface oxidation and use. The set has not been collated for completeness and is sold with what is shown. Case measures approximately 26 x 14 x 5 inches. From the remarkable lifetime Collection of Michael Kent.
