PARLOR PISTOL. Cal. 22 RF. NSN. Bbl. 10 3/8". Single shot parlor pistol produced in Germany by an unknown mfg. Left flat of the half octagonal bbl. is marked with German Crown/G and Crown/U commercial proofs, followed by an indiscernible cal. marking. Right side of frame and bottom flat of the breechblock exhibit German Crown/B and Crown/U commercial proofs. "8" is present on the bottom flat of the bbl. (beneath the forearm), rear of the breechblock, as well as on the right side of the frame (beneath grip panel). Frame, trigger guard, and bbl. exhibit an apparent reapplied blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips and a checkered wood forearm. Wood furniture appears to have been lightly sanded, re-checkered, and refinished. Dovetailed blade front sight and V-notch rear sight. Offset hammer with upward hinged breechblock, and rearward hinged extractor. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their apparent reapplied blue finish, showing some spots of light to mild wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with some scattered spots/patches of light surface oxidation present overall. Grip straps (particularly the rear strap) exhibit areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina. Trigger, hammer, breechblock, and extractor have faded to a gray patina, showing some light pitting and spots of age related discoloration. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture is very good, showing some scattered superficial handling marks and minor impressions. (01-28005/MLW). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
