JEFFREY OCONNOR OF KEARNY, NEW JERSEY WON THIS LOT IN OUR DEC. 2 AUCTION, PAID, THEN DID A CHARGE BACK BECAUSE HE CHANGED HIS MIND ABOUT DRIVING TO PICK THIS LOT UP. THAT IS WHY IT IS RELISTED IN THIS AUCTION. A vintage Zenith 12-S-445 Shutterdial radio, exhibiting characteristics of the Art Deco or Streamline Moderne style, likely dating from the 1930s or 1940s. The radio features a dark and lighter stained wooden cabinet with a distinctive ribbed design on the left side. The front panel includes a large, circular brass-toned metal dial surround with a glass cover, displaying "ZENITH" in the center, "KILOCYCLES," "MEGACYCLES," "STANDARD BROADCAST," "SHORT WAVE 1," "SHORT WAVE 2," and numerous vintage radio station call letters (e.g., KDKA, WGN, KFI, WABC). Flanking the dial are push-button controls, some labeled for functions such as "LO BASS," "HI BASS," and others for specific stations like "KPRC" and "SFO." Below the dial, a cream-colored plastic or bakelite tuning knob is present, with associated text "AUTOMATIC," "STD BROAD," "SHORT WAVE 1," and "SHORT WAVE 2." The rear reveals a pressed fiberboard panel with ventilation holes, an integrated loop antenna, a power cord with a two-prong plug, and a partially torn label indicating "ZENITH R. Corp. CHICAGO, ILL. U.S.A." There is a chip to the tuning knob. The label on the rear is partially torn. The power turns on. Burns in-house shipping is available.
