Description
Cyril Hirtle (1918-2003) captures a busy day on the dock as two men, one smoking his pipe, work diligently unloading their catch. Brightly painted lobsters are everywhere including in the boat, on the dock, and still more being conveyed to storage sheds in the background. The work is meticulously well-painted and structured with the blue-planked wharf cutting across the centre of the canvas.
Condition
Excellent overall condition. Paint retains strong colour. Slight bulging/cockling to canvas.
