Description
One-Eyed Dzi Bead, Agate, with a length of 3.8cm, diameter of 1.2cm and weight of 9g, originating from the Xizang region and inherited from the ancient Zhangzhung civilization, made of banded agate with the etching technique. Adopting the "etching" technique, a black and white "one-eyed" pattern is painted on the surface of the agate with clear decorative lines, natural warm patina and natural weathering lines ("horseshoe lines"), being a classic category of dzi beads. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912 AD), dzi beads are sacred objects of Tibetan Buddhism; the "one-eyed dzi bead" symbolizes wisdom and peace, with profound cultural connotations. Old material dzi beads of the Qing Dynasty are rare in existence, and this well-preserved one is a popular variety in the collection of Tibetan cultural play, with its market price rising year by year.
