An 1879 Morgan Silver Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan and composed of ninety percent silver. The obverse presents the left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty crowned with a Phrygian cap, wheat, and cotton blossoms, with LIBERTY inscribed upon her headband, encircled by thirteen stars, the inscription E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the date 1879 below. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with wings outstretched, grasping both arrows and an olive branch, surrounded by a laurel wreath, with inscriptions including UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, and the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST.
