US Model 1855 Springfield Carbine
American Civil War

Single shot percussion muzzleloading rifled carbine with leaf rear sight missing from the dovetail, M1855 rifle pattern front sight blade, sling ring on rear bow of triggerguard, three position tumbler and captive swivel ramrod. Standard Springfield lock markings, dated 1855. No visible markings on barrel, no visible cartouches.
