.50-70. 36" barrel. NSN. Bright barrel and furniture, color casehardened receiver, smooth walnut stock and forend secured by two solid, rounded spring-retained barrel bands. Single shot breechloading metallic cartridge rifle with M1868 pattern military ladder rear sight, Barleycorn combination musket pattern front sight and socket bayonet lug, sling swivels on the triggerguard bow and upper barrel band and jag head cleaning rod with double swelled shoulders. Standard markings on tang and receiver, dated 1872. A clear script ESA cartouche is on the reverse wrist and an upside down boxed script B cartouche is present on the obverse wrist. {ANTIQUE}

Very Good. Bore about fine, mostly bright with some moderate frosting and retaining strong rifling. Barrel lightly cleaned to bright with scattered surface oxidation and age discoloration and some scuffs near the breech. Receiver with some of the case colors intact, although they are somewhat muted and dusky. Rear sight with some of the blue intact. Markings clear and crisp, including cartouche. Mechanically functional action. Wood fairly crisp with some handling marks, and showings some scattered bumps, dings and mars.
