A carved wooden Chiwara antelope headdress created by the Bamana people of Mali, traditionally worn as a head crest in ritual dances celebrating agriculture. Depicts an antelope with four horns and finely carved surface details. The base features a green fabric-wrapped woven headpiece with shell accents. Exhibits a worn, aged patina. Measures approximately 14 1/2″ H x 6″ W x 20 1/2″ D. Shows age-appropriate wear to the surface.
