
Repaired British New Land Flintlock Pistol
.75 Cal. 9.25" barrel length. SN: NSN. Bright metal finish mounting walnut stock retained by two cross pins and featuring brass triggerguard and ramrod socket. Single shot flintlock pistol with repaired wood stock. Right lockplate displays a weak {Crown} mark and a spurious date mark of 1784. Twin Birmingham proofs to rear barrel above touch hole. Double throat India pattern cock with bordered engraving. Mainspring has been replaced with one that is too short to engage the tumbler. Stock shows multiple cracks and splits with wood fill. A brass stud has been inserted in the forend tip. Comes with nonmatching ramrod. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Good. Bore is Very Dark with patina and oxidation throughout. Metal finish has been buffed and shows some gray to brown mottling overall. Brass parts tarnished with some verdigris. Stock sanded with assorted handling dents and mars. Split through left forend, further split through stock from trigger through the ramrod socket. A split along the lockplate has been filled in with wood fill. Further split forming through left stock and rear serpentine screw. Action functions sluggishly.
