US Model 1842 Pistol by Aston

American Civil War

.54 caliber. 8.5" barrel. NSN. Bright finish, brass mountings, walnut stock. Single shot muzzleloading smoothbore pistol with captive swivel ramrod, brass blade front sight, no rear sight. "H Aston" lock markings, dated 1847 at the tail with matching 1847 date on the tang. US/GWR/P breech markings and two decent cartouches. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Good. Bore moderately oxidized with some pitting. Metal moderately oxidized with a mostly brown patina and some scattered surface roughness and some pitting. Clear markings. Mechanically functional lock. Wood good with scattered bumps, dings and mars and two decent cartouches.
