.50-70. 29.625" barrel. SN: 10849. Blued and color casehardened finish, iron furniture, walnut stock. Single shot breechloading cadet length version of the M1868 Rifle, with M1868 pattern rear sight with broken ladder, Barleycorn front sight, two-click tumbler, smooth trigger, single shoulder jag head cleaning rod and incorrect upper barrel band and triggerguard with sling swivels, which were not originally included on the 1869 Cadet Rifel. Breechblock marked 1870/{Eagle Head}/{Cross Arrows} with a repurposed Civil War era lock dated 1863. Counterpane with a script ESA cartouche in an oval. Includes an incorrect and unrelated Kerr NO BUCKL sling. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Fair to Good. Bore fair, moderately oxidized and frosted with decent rifling. Metal with much of an old applied blue finish remaining. Markings mostly clear and legible. Mechanically functional action. Stock with scattered bumps, dings and mars.
