SOUTHERN PAINT-DECORATED YELLOW PINE WORK TABLE

Description

SOUTHERN PAINT-DECORATED PINE WORK TABLE, the rectangular top with rounded corners over a plain apron, the whole supported by vernacular cabriole legs. Retains an early, probably original paint-decorated/grain-painted surface to the apron and legs, with a later finished surface on the top and over the paint. First half 19th century. 30 1/4" HOA, 35 1/4" x 29 3/4" top.

Condition

Good overall condition with typical minor to moderate wear; top either an old replacement or altered with holes on the skirt indicating that it originally was a pin-top; some blocking replaced to the underside; minor insect damage.
