Description
For your consideration are two, Chippewa Cree game throwing arrows made by Many Trails in the 20th Century, from the Many Trails Collection at the former Indian Nation Trading Post in Livingston, Montana. The throwing arrow game originated around the 1920s - 1930s by the Apsaalooke Crow of Montana. These arrows show a wood construction with brass tacks, a small beaded section near the middle and wrapped tanned rawhide on the tops and bottoms. They are adorned with three turkey feathers each and show turkey feather fletching. The tips are long and constructed from steel, showing a nice point on each. The first one shows teal / green and black beads, while the second one shows colors of light blue, red and dark blue. They show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of major damage noted. The first (teal and black beads) measures 56 3/4" L x 2 5/8" L x 2 5/8" W, while the second one measures 57 3/8" L x 2 5/8" W x 2 5/8" D. They have a collective weight of 1 pound and 4 ounces.
