Description
An informal sterling silver pastry fork owned and used by Adolf Hitler at non-official, private functions. The three tine fork measures 6 in. long and bears his engraved initials 'A H' at the end of the handle. This 'Berghof' pattern as it has come to be known, was specifically designed for use at his vacation home in the mountains, and this style of lettering was inspired by, and meant to resemble stylistic Birch bows. It can be found on many sets of other silver from the Berghof, and is also featured on countless styles of glassware. Hallmark unidentified by us. With copies of letters of provenance pointing to origin from a G.I. at Berchtesgaden. Very good. This piece likely originated from one of the many such sets of silverware gifted to Hitler during his rise to power. Fine.
