
Description
(1838–1917) German general and later inventor of the Zeppelin rigid airships. He founded the company Luftschiffbau Zeppelin. On 2 July 1900, Zeppelin made the first flight with the LZ1 over Lake Constance near Friedrichshafen in southern Germany. Superb S.P. 3.5 x 5.25 in. b/w, shows von Zeppelin seated with Capt. Paul Koenig, boldly signed. Fine condition. Paul Koenig (1867-1933) was a German kapitanleutnant with the Imperial German Navy who made two patrols to the U.S. for commercial purposes with the merchant submarine Deutschland in 1916.
