The attack led to a war of attrition, during which Hussein quelled a Kurdish uprising by the widespread use of chemical weapons. Good content manuscript letter signed on his presidential letterhead, 1p. 8vo., [Baghdad], Oct. 11,1979 to the Iraqi ministers of foreign affairs and information.
