Gilt Bronze Octagonal Incense Burner, height 22cm, width 17.5cm, 2676.5g. A scholarly desk object of the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty, with an original zitan wood lid and white jade finial. Cast in refined copper, with a white jade auspicious beast finial and carved rosewood base. Made via lost-wax casting; octagonal body with vivid double-fish handles, warm overall patina, and clear marks. Mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. Integrating copper, jade, and wood, it is a fine example of Qing scholarly incense vessels, valuable for researching bronze censer craftsmanship and literati aesthetics of the Qing Dynasty.
