Solid brass bell from the ship H.M.S. Jasper, engraved “JASPER”. H.M.S. Jasper (J?407) was originally laid down in 1943 as the U.S. built minesweeper BAM?29 and was renamed Jasper when transferred to the British Royal Navy under Lend?Lease in April 1944. She served as a minesweeper during the latter stages of the Second World War, clearing naval mines to protect Allied convoys and naval operations. After the war she was returned to U.S. custody in 1946 and subsequently sold into civilian service. 6 lbs. 7"H x 8"Diameter.
