LOT of (3) antique Papier mache/composite shoulder head "Fashion" dolls signed on bottom by artist MELANIE. They are all 16" T and mounted on a base with description of each one. Heads are sculpted with painted features with either wool yarn or wig over yarn. The bodies are cloth wrapped wire and each have detailed hands. They are all dressed in beautiful fashion costumes of the period. Doll 1) 1880 red silk Spanish Evening dress with lace mantilla. Leather shoes. Doll 2) 1885 English Carriage dress in grey silk with cinnamon overskirt/bodice. Black beaded cape. Sequined velvet hat, black leather shoes. Stand. Doll 3) 1900 Tailored English 2 pc. costume in fine black/white check with French knot detail on jacket. Black velvet hat. Black suede shoes and gloves. Condition: minor age discoloration, loss.
