An elegant and abstract bronze sculpture titled Amati Maiden, rendering the female form through a series of fluid, biomorphic curves reduced to an essential silhouette. The figure features a warm reddish-brown finish and is raised on a slender rod, mounted on a substantial two-tiered base of dark green variegated marble. Signed “Theo 1/20” at the lower portion of the form. Theodora “Theo” Sable was a New York artist and designer who combined creativity with business vision; after teaching at Fordham University, she launched her jewelry design business in 1976 and exhibited in the Young Designers Room by 1978. Known for realistic, story-driven designs, she became recognized as a leading designer of her time. Measures approximately 26 1/2'' H x 7 1/2'' W x 7 1/2'' D, Good condition with light wear to surface.
