Oil pastel portrait depicting a African American boy holding cotton candy, rendered with expressive eyes and a vibrant color palette, showing the influence of master painters. Bill Key (1937-2005) was an American artist and designer born in Richmond, Virginia. A graduate of Furman University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, he later studied master painting in Mexico City at the University of Mexico. He also owned William Key Interiors and was featured in Southern Accents, Southern Living, and Architectural Digest. Housed in a decorated gilt frame. Frame measures approximately 26 1/8" H x 21 5/8" W x 2" D. Good condition.
