.54-caliber, serial number 20370, walnut stock with two cartouche marks on the left side and "L.A.B." stamped in front of the butt plate tang, steel fittings and a brass barrel band, marked on the lock "STARR ARMS CO/YONKERS, N.Y.", marked on the receiver tang "STARR'S PATENT/SEPT. 14TH 1858", and marked on the top of the barrel "STARR ARMS CO. YONKERS, N.Y."
