Description
INLAID TALL CASE CLOCK. American, Early 19th Century. Cherry. Bonnet with broken arch pediment, turned finial, tombstone arched door, elliptically shaped sidelights, and slender turned pilasters. Case with cove moldings under bonnet and at waist, chamfered corners, rectangular door with applied beaded edge, and oval viewing window, paneled base with inlaid eagle and stylized bracket feet. The whole with line and geometric inlays. Painted wooden face with floral decoration, brass works, weights, and pendulum. 98.5"h. 19.25"w. 11"d. Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of Charles and Margaret Gibbs (Salem, Ohio).
