Killed in action at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. Very rare war-date A.E.S. in black ink on a 3.25 x 2.25 in. slip of paper cut from a larger document, in full: ‘Hd Qrs in the field Camp near Goldsboro N.C. Jany. 3Rd 1862 Respectfully forwarded Junius Daniel Brig Genl Commdg’. Mounted to a larger card, shows some soiling overall, otherwise in very good condition.
