(1828 - 1864) Confederate brigadier general who was a career military officer before the war, served with distinction at the Battle of Chancellorsville and in the Gettysburg Campaign. Killed in action at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. Rare black ink signature as: ‘Col. 14th N.C.V' Very good.
