Description
(1824 - 1886) Union major general severely wounded facing Pickett’s charge at Gettysburg, also active at Antietam, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Partly-printed D.S. 1p. folio, Philadelphia, Nov. 5, 1884, a posthumous MOLLUS award given to Charles Lanman Green (1841-1922), American surgeon who, in 1863, joined the Pennsylvania Vols as a medical doctor. He only served for about 90 days before his unit was disbanded after the Battle of Gettysburg. Wear to edges and light toning thereat, a few creases, else very good. Offered with Green’s original medical diploma issued in 1864.
