Serge (Agababoff/Agababian) Sedrac (1878-1974) was born in Tiflis, Georgia, to an Armenian family from the Caucasus. He initially studied in Moscow, then travelled to Paris to continue his education, where he met and married the daughter of Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky. He settled permanently in Paris in 1926. He was known for his landscapes and scenes of his native Georgia, Russia and France.
