The address of the artist has been lined out and the ACR acronym stands for Artists Co-op Reno. From Robert C. McFadden Painters of Nevada 1845-1980, Velda Morby was born in Mina, Nevada, in 1908. She studied at the CCAC (now CCA). She painted with listed artists Richard Yip, Louis Heinzman and Warren Brandon. She was a charter member of the Artists Co-op Gallery Reno, which was founded in 1966. She was also a well respected author of many art articles published in the local papers. Her work is a complicated assemblage of Impressionism, Fauvism, Modernism and etc., where she never stood still in her approach. She was the winner of over 90 awards in her career as a painter. She rarely exhibited outside the state of Nevada.
