A lovely pair of genuine antique 19th Century rose cut natural diamond and natural aquamarine chandelier long drop earrings in 18K gold and silver.
As is correct for genuine antique earrings from this period, the parts of the earrings set with diamonds are silver. Silver was the only choice of precious white metal available to jewelers of the period, long before white gold and platinum were developed for jewelry use. The parts of earrings not set with diamonds are solid 18K yellow gold, this confirmed by testing. The earrings are entirely handmade and the diamonds hand set.
They are a long super elegant and eye catching 4 inch length (100 mm) by 1" (25 mm) width. The pair weighs 11.77 grams making each one a very comfortable weight for extended wear.
These fine antique earrings are set with 212 rose cut earth mined natural light champagne diamonds with a combined diamond weight of 2.29 carats for the pair. Ten perfectly matched earth mine natural blue aquamarine briolettes sway with every movement, each one 1.75 ct, the toal aquamarine weight 17.50 carats. The total combined carat weight of aquamarine briolettes and rose cut light champagne diamonds is 19.79 carats. Naturally all the diamonds and aquamarines are hand cut earth mined natural gems.
These earrings evoke a more elegant era and remain just as glamorous and eye catching today. 18K solid gold posts have been added for easy wear.
