This is a magnificient and scarce map of the Russian Imperial city of Petrograd as it was in 1894 -- renamed later to Leningrad and then to St. Petersburg. Text in cyrillic. This second largest Russian city was built to link Russia closer to the West. Situated on the Neva river, this map shows in great deal of detail the streets, churches, Peter and Paul Fortress, the Admiralty, the Hermitage, Marble palace, etc. This is a 20th century reprint.
