**Originally Listed At $400**
Ancient Near East, modern day Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 700 BCE. A fine example of a lost wax cast bronze dagger with a narrow handle designed to have an inlaid panel - in this case one made of marble, which still remains in fragmentary fashion on both sides - a rare find! This is a classic example of a fine weapon made to be buried with one of the nomad warriors of this region, preserved in such a way as to remind us of how these weapons looked when first made. Size: 1.3" W x 14.75" H (3.3 cm x 37.5 cm); 14.8" H (37.6 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
