M. W. Maughlin (possibly American, 19th-20th century), oil on canvas, portrait of a man playing the fiddle, dated 1901. Signed and dated in lower right corner of face.

Dimensions are: sight size 11.625 inches wide X 16.625 inches tall, frame measures 14.75 inches wide X 19.875 inches tall. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: Not examined out of frame; pinprick hole in canvas at height of man's eyebrow; small, scattered areas of paint loss by man's shoulder and edges of painting.

Provenance: From a Washington, DC collection.
