清乾隆 仿古條紋玉簋
The jade in overall grey celadon tone. Carved as an archaistic bronze gui imitation form. The cover carved with a rope twist finial and shallow relief stylized fish and bow string roundels against fine keyscroll ground. The globular body carved with rounded vertical ribs and supported on a straight foot. Pair of cylindrical handles to side decorated with diamond patterns. Base with four character incised Qianlong mark in seal script. Qing dynasty, 18th C. H. 24cm (9 1/2 in.)L. 31cm (12 1/4 in.)
Provenance: Lots 1060 to 1071 encompasses a prized collection assembled over many years by a highly respected collector. Spanning from the Yuan dynasty to Republican period, this high calibre collection of twelve objects highlights the scholarly pursuit and refined eye for antiquity from this collector. The collector built a vast knowledge for Chinese jade carvings which is highlighted by Lot 1062 - a large and fine example of imperial Qianlong ritual jade. Furthermore, the collector’s lifetime fascination with Chinese bronze is evident in the quality of the bronze wares, highlighted by Lot 1065, an unusually large example of Mid-Qing dynasty bronze work.
