We regret you were not pleased with your JSE & A experience. As with other businesses, we have had to adjust to a new way of doing business because of covid. We not only notify our customers of delays, but we also suggest they use our local UPS store should they need items faster than we are able to accommodate. Our pack and ship department are top notch and work tirelessly to make sure our customers receive their items in good order. Hiring more staff would mean our existing employees would experience a cut in their hours. We choose not to punish the staff by cutting their hours for a situation which is out of their control. Please know we pack items in the order they were paid. We greatly appreciate your prompt payment, but please know you were number 189 on our pack and ship list. That coupled with a skeleton staff caused the delay.

We regret your wait time. Covid has affected the manner in which we conduct business. While we have done our best to keep up with demand, like many others, we were not prepared to adapt during these trying times. In so far as the shipping costs, they are dictated by UPS. The pack fees are based on an $18.00 per hour rate. The materials we use for packing are often recycled materials to keep the cost down to our buyers. I hope this has cleared-up any questions you may have. We see you have registered for our upcoming August auction. We trust this will be a better experience for you and will do everything possible to ensure that it is.

We strive to get items out to buyer's as soon as possible. According to our notes, it appears we waited nearly three weeks to hear back from you regarding a specific matter before we could proceed with shipping the items to you. The pack fee was $31.06 and shipping via UPS was $74.98. We regret you were dissatisfied with your JSE & A experience and hope perhaps you will give us another try in the future.

I believe we have made a valid case through multiple emails as to the reason behind this delay. I regret we could not meet your expectations while we were also juggling some fairly serious issues and responsibilities such as keeping our staff and customers safe during this pandemic. We are certain you will be satisfied with the service you receive form the third party shipper we recommended so that you can get your items quicker.

As noted on the invoice, and verbally from the front office staff, packing and shipping would be somewhat delayed due to a number of our packing staff being out because of concerns surrounding Covid. Our auctions are quite large, larger than most, and as a courtesy to our customers, we offer in-house shipping. Perhaps you are not aware that we pack and ship in the order that the invoice is paid. It appears you were quite high on the list. Realizing some do not like to wait for their items, we offer an alternative by directing customers to the local UPS store with whom we have worked with quite successfully in the past. Perhaps this is something you might consider in the future. To your point about JSE & A not caring about your items, it is quite the contrary. If you have seen the way in which we pack to ensure safe delivery, you will know that it is our aim to make sure items are received as expected. We do not claim to be one of the big shipping entities who have the staff to accommodate overnight shipping, rather we have a small team who, under normal circumstances, are able to keep a reasonable pace all the while packing items in a manner to ensure safe delivery.

We are glad you are pleased with your purchases. We pack and ship in the order in which people call to pay for their purchases, and feel this is the only fair way to handle the matter. You indeed were number 305 on the pack list. As I'm sure you understand, these are unprecedented times for everyone and we were working on a skeleton crew trying to accommodate purchasers. Our office staff was diligent in notifying purchasers of the delay and alternatively suggested use of the local UPS store. Most first time buyers cannot comprehend the manner in which we must pack these items. Many are rare and irreplaceable, all being treated as a one-of-a-kind piece. It takes time. Please keep in mind there was a combined total of 1, 840 lots for the April auction, many with multiple items. Using your figure of 50 lots per day, that would take nearly 37 days to pack and ship-and that is not taking into consideration multiple lots. We regret you were not given notice when the items were charged to your credit card. An automatic email goes out once we've charged the card. Perhaps we have an incorrect email for you? This is concerning and we will certainly check into it-thank you for letting us know. To your last point-We have a loyal and dependable pack and ship team, hiring someone for just a few weeks doesn't seem fair to a new hire, or the staff person who needed to have time off for a family emergency or those who felt it necessary to stay home until threat of the virus had passed. It is never our goal to take an undue amount of time getting items to the rightful owners, but we feel we did everything possible to keep the lines of communication open. We regret you feel the process was unsatisfactory.
