HIndman is a pleasure to work with

Beware of this auction house that charges abusive prices. They wanted to charge me 350 dollars for a purchase of 1000 that weighed no more than 200 grams. The shipping "manager" just gives you the same thing over and over again without making the slightest effort to find useful solutions. In addition to a 30 % hammer price, get ready for another 30 % in shipping, in the end the piece comes out as if it were made of gold, they are simply a bunch of cheeky people.

HINDMAN Auctions in West Palm Beach was "spot on" with everything! The UPS store I used for shipping was certainly not a responsive and on the ball as I had hoped. I will try the other UPS store managed by a woman. My item was very well packed and arrived safely, so no complaints there.

With their last auction, it was not quite clear where the lots were located. As ist turned out, the Auction was held out of Chicago (Headquarters) and the lots were located in West Palm Beach, FL. Hindman charges a "convenience fee of 3 %" for payment with credit card, which the other auctions houses I worked with do and did not.

I won some items at auction and the whole experience was so nice. The people work terrific and very accomodating. I would highly recommend Hindman Auctions as an honest and great auction house!

I used one of the recommended shippers but they were unable to get the items released for 2 weeks due to some confusion at the auction house. I had to send 2 emails to get the items released despite having paid as soon as I got the invoice. I cannot tell what happened but the auction house has multiple locations and it seems one branch is not communicating adequately with the other. This can prove very stressful when you are in another country.

I'm new to live auctioneers but can tell you that Hindmans is the best auction house I've dealt with. They're very honest in their descriptions and provide excellent customer service. Thanks

The transaction was seamless and the rug is stunning.

The description said: the mechanism now removed and needing repair. In real the mechanism was completely missing. That’s misleading but nothing I can do. That’s money thrown in the dustbin. THANKS to HINDMAN. Be aware this auction house takes 29 % commission and is not willing to correct a mistake. Shame on them.

Every interaction with Hindman has been delightful. They are polite and attentive on the phone, truly working to create the most professional interaction with customers. When I was uncertain about the provenance of a piece, I inquired via messenger, and received not only an extensive answer, but additional photographs to assure me that the item was, indeed, as represented. Packing and shipping was done phenomenally well and fast. Kudos to this professional and kind business.

Love hindman.... amazing finds. Super courteous staff..... class act operation. This time some hiccups with pick ups that were a little inconvenient but that was an exception. (Told all items at warehouse so scheduled one pick up at that location... picked up 1 item but told others were at main location when the couldnt find the rest of the product. Went there... got one more but then sent back to warehouse to get other afterall. Put delivery driver behind sched and cost an extra hour not planned but staff apologetic of mix ups and did truly feel bad.. I know going thru move so these things happen.... we all have bad days. It has never happened previously so it's all good now. Otherwise.... Hindman remains a true shining example.

The vintage Lalique piece I purchased was accurately described in the original . Very pleased! Hindman staff was excellent at responding to questions and concerns. My only disappointment was with the UPS store they refer to. I originally phoned and spoke to someone who handles auctions at the UPS Store. I phoned back to make payment and no one knew who the person was. Learned my call was transferred to an off-shore UPS call center. Apparently this is a very large operating UPS store in Chicago. Spent 30 minutes trying to reach the UPS store auction coordinator who it turns out was not there at the time. No problem, I understand that people may not be available, but please do not forward calls to a call center who just amplified the poor customer service. Spoke to another team member at the UPS store the following day. He was friendly and helpful. Paid shipping fee of $100.00 which was definitely high, but gave specific instructions on packing. One of which was too please be careful not to get any shipping tape on the original (perfect condition) Lalique which was to be bubble wrapped. Well the bubble wrap missed a coverage area where tape ended up on the which caused a tear. Also, I requested that the piece be shipped in one solid UPS . Instead they taped two smaller UPS boxes together to create the larger . Fortunately the item arrived safely. Important to share information about shipping experience since hopefully Hindman will share this feedback with the shipper. Most important was the accuracy of Hindman's description and customer service where they excelled. Highly recommend Hindman.
