My check cleared my bank on July 7th. I finally called on July 27th to see when I could expect my item. Finally received my item on August 4th almost one month after payment cleared. Shipping lag is unacceptable.

I was pleased to win an item in their auction A week later I received a bill for over $250 in shipping charges! I researched the shipping fees from the UPS and they were only $91 for an item of the same dimernsions and weight. I told the auction house of my findings and that I would not be contributing to these unreasonable charges. They asserted that they have their own shipping department to carefully handle things. My item was wood and not fragile. They continued to call me asking for payment. Something seems fishy here.

On the whole, I am very satisfied with Jackson’s. I really appreciated the fact that they have in house shipping. It was very clear from the package I received (which had glass in frames) that they know their craft well. I even learned a few tips from them on how to do that type of packing better. Actual shipping/handling costs were about what I might pay using an external shipper but with far less hassles and well done. That is a big plus. The 30 % buyer premium is higher than many auction houses. They do not accept credit cards or Paypal, which was surprising. But I understand that would add 3-5 % to their business expenses. The one matter that was unexpected was the $30 USD wire transfer fee for their bank. Not the fee, just the cost. Wire transfers have become commonplace and are very inexpensive for banks to perform, so I am not sure why this fee is so high. Perhaps Jackson’s needs to negotiate better fees with their bank. Covid 19 continues to affect business and deliveries many parts of the country. Time to delivery 3 + weeks. Invoice received June 26/invoice paid June 27/wire transfer processed by bank June 30th (estimated). Shipping info sent to Fedex July 21, parcel received July 24. To help you gauge costs on your bids, my $80 USD winning bid ended up as $248 USD (inclusive of shipping, handling, buyer’s premium, wire transfer (plus a Fedex broker fee here in Canada). All that said I am very happy with the actual item won, and would consider Jacksons ’ again.

Jackson's auction was very responsive to questions and shipping quotes on various lots prior to auction. Live auction was easy to maneuver and bid. They communicated at various stages after winning the lot I wanted. The packaging of the 16 pieces I won was the best I've seen. Everything arrived quickly and safely for a reasonable cost. I will look at and bid again at Jackson's Auction.

Jackson's Auction house staff are very courteous and cooperative. The in-house shipping department is excellent in terms of packaging. A large antique ceramic and brass vase arrived at my home in Canada intact. I would recommend this auction house for all bidders.

It was a good experience overall. The customer service lady was very friendly and helpful. I was happy to have won my Lot # and the item arrived safely and packed well. The shipping price was reasonable, certainly no more than the number 1 price gouges UPS. However, you must I repeat MUST get a condition report before bidding. They will not reveal any part of the condition unless you ask. I personally don’t like surprises and I definitely would remove stars for that practice. I would bid with them again with asking condition beforehand.

High seller fees, super high shipping and handling, and item still got to me damaged

This is a auction house that charges more than anyone in the industry for premium but yes, it is disclosed but then afterwards....... Once it’s time to pay, the circus starts because their goal is to extract money from you every steps along the way, shippings fees that have no comparisons in the industry, the handling fees are a disguised robbery, no exaggeration, they don’t come close to other auctioneers. You want to inquire about a item before the auction, good luck calling them or writing them. I bought numerous lots, the descriptions were not even close in regards to the state of the items, meaning, when they tell you in this case, some of the... might not be functioning, I guess they were correct, some of them were not functioning, about 35 %. I contacted them, I could have made a stop payment with the AX, I did not, I was naive, they only bothered to answer after 2 weeks once I wrote them again still in a civil tone, they did not even asked what I wanted... They will only answer a non personal bullying corporate letter, you will be the privileged recipient of a copy and paste letter equivalent to be told: get in line, be a good lamb, shut up and pay! I am not the run of the mill “yelp type primadonna” complainer. I am closer to the sunset than the sunrise and I never before wrote a single complain about a company on the internet. Learn from my mistakes, avoid this auctioneer.

Extremely happy with the buying experience at Jacksons and am looking forward to purchasing there again. In house shipping is a great benefit, no need for third party shippers and all of that coordination. Beth, who is the shipping coordinator, was fantastic. Yes, ten out of ten. Very happy.
