Clars handles things well

I was charged with 2 receipts, one from Live Auctioneer and one from Clar with different amount cuz, LA charged with Tax, I paid LA and took awhile for the two to talked to each other, then for shipping, LA always charged double and takes a long time and the on site shipping from NY (Raymond) He won't answer you phone even you leave a message for 4-5 days, When he answered the phone, he does not greet you just silence until you mentioned your business.

Clars was awesome! When you don't have to pay Live Auctioneers overpriced shipping everything else is golden

It is beyond me that Clars, a reputable auction house with integrity that I have been purchasing from for 11 years, would sully their name with the practices that are are utilized by Clars LA. Their listings are at the least intentionally misleading if not fraudulent. The fact that they post items for sale that have gold hallmarks and but do not disclose that the item is in fact gold plate is unethical if not unlawful. Furthermore, it is impossible to get in touch with anyone there by any means and they do not take credit card. I WONDER WHY. They took me for $1, 300. Don't be a sucker and let them take you too.

I have searching for an Antonio Jacobsen painting. The one I eventually bought came up at auction. Before the auction, I contacted Clars with questions The lady whom I spoke to (thank you, Shala!) was extremely helpful, patient, and kind. I did win the painting and payment was extremely easing. The shipping through UPS was very secure and the painting arrived a day earlier than expected. A great experience for me! I highly recommend Clars Auctions!! George, Washington, D. C.

Clars hides defects and will not resolve problems claiming the bidder was the failure.

I have bid on over 100 auctions with Live Auctioneer. I can say with conviction that Clars Auction House is the worst case of bait-and-switch I have experienced. The auction showed a group of small items in all pictures and when the item shipped, it was without a silver capped scottish snuf box. I contacted the auction house and they took over a month to admit that the the pictures were a mistake. They have been unresponsive after that and offered a 'house credit' for use with a future purchase. I dont need a credit for more purchase with a deceptive auction house. You should refund the auction fees because clearly you admit that you messed up. But ethical behavior does not seem to be a speciality here. I have asked LiveAuctioneer to step in and help. We shall see what happens. Needless to say, deeply disappointed at what I see as clear and willful fraud.

Clars has always made any issue I have had right. There have only been a few in ten years of steady purchasing. All good.

I somehow would up duplicating my payment through both Clars and Live Auctioneers. Clars staff were very helpful and had the duplicate payment through Live Auctioneers promptly reversed.

I have sent Clars a list of issue directly to Clars for their awareness. what they do with that info?-time will tell.

The item was made of plaster, not carved as described. Glad I didn't pay too much for it. I will never trust their descriptions again. If I can't preview I will not bid. Those of you who bid from a distance... Beware!

I have never experienced such treatment in bidding on auction items. I have notified Liveauctioneers of the PROBLEMS with the transaction. I do not think I would recommend ever doing business with CLARS Auction to ANYONE-EVER. some thing was terribly wrong with buying at auction-Back in December 2024 CLARS said it would cost nearly $700 to ship. Then they said someone from a shipper picked it up, Then CLARS said they couldn't find the clock. then CLARS put it back up for auction in MAY 2025. I purchase for more than twice what I purchased it for in Dec 2024. I guess this someone is a sucker.
