Most difficult thing about buying on line is capturing the feeling of SIZE. It would be nice if one photo included a scale reference item (with smaller items often a coin, a well known object in others etc.) to put things into perspective. Dimensions just lose something online. Thankfully Nye is conveniently located off the GSP in Bloomfield NJ so we visit regularly. Say hello to Bisby!

Do not count on their "in house shipping" they will send you to a UPS store that charged me 55 dollars for a cardboard box and another fifty dollars for the bubble wrap. I ship rifles all the time and the cost should have been 60 $or thereabouts they charged me over 150 $total rip off. When I talked to the "In House shipping" guy he said he didn't have the resources to handle shipping the gun. I asked what resources he needed and he replied "tape and a box".

Great items. Horrible abusive treatment by packer/shipper. My name is Jasen M and the auction house rendered it into an unrecognizable Jean Barbarrrich!!! The house needs to inform its packer that customers should not be abused.

I thought that the packing and shipping costs were a bit excessive. Otherwise, the auction was very successful.

I Have not received the painting. This auction house states that they will send a shipping quote after they receive payment. Auction was June 21st after not receiving a reply to my email, asking when they would be shipping, I called the auction house on July 9th. I was then told that it was too large for them to ship and I would have to make other arrangements. I feel that I should have been told this upfront.

I found the folks at Nye & Company to be incredibly helpful with the whole transaction. Great estate finds, fresh to the market. I’ll use liveauctioneers and purchase thru them again.

Sometimes the live auction moves too quickly for online bidding. I have missed items for this reason. Faster internet or more measured selling would help me feel confident bidding online live.
