I am confident with Dennis Auction Service and have been for the past 12 years. Anytime I have a question, it is answered quickly and with a query if they can do anything else. I cannot report on a defect resolution because there never has been! I never have to wonder about the level of an item because it is alway on the upper end of quality. i always have the best experiences at Dennis and will always be confident in any dealings with them. Always a pleasure.

Items as described

To begin, I am very pleased with Dennis Auctions. I have bought several items from them, and will continue to do so. However, with this specific lot, I am disappointed. The clock was described as German, and the clock face has an confusing phrase, "Movement Made in Germany". When I got the clock home, I turned it over to see the back-it is a very large clock-and saw a sticker, "Made in China". This is a Chinese clock, not a German clock. A Chinese clock typically is not of the same quality of a German clock.

Dennis Auction Service is very unknowledgeable when it comes to the collectables they are selling. If a figurine arrives crack or broken, the auctioneer will claim ignorance and claim they wouldn't have known and claim they thought that is how it is supposed to be. They will blame you for not asking prior to biding. How would I know to ask if they do not disclose and according to them, are pretty ignorant when it comes to the figurine they are selling? If you are a true collector, stay away. There are a lot of better auctioneers on live auctioneer that are knowledgeable, honest and disclose all flaws either in the description or pictures.

Great piece! I have won items from Dennis Auctions previously. This was a fantastic collection of rare pieces. I did have to call them to ask the size of the piece, and immediately they checked the answer while I was on the phone. They also quickly added the dimensions to the on-line description.

Books showed up as described. Payment went through without any problems. Packing and shipping was handled very well. I got my books promptly after the auction closed. Thank you for the good work.

Outrageous commission of 25 percent is ridiculous

Try them and you will be happy. the best in high end and hard to find pieces. It is as if they get lots from museums. Always great opportunities.

There is not anything that I can find fault with concerning Dennis Auction Service. The items are interesting, exclusive and of high value. The operations are professional and the entire stream of the Auction is seamless. I love to participate and always experience service levels that exceed expectations. As i said before it is a treat when a Dennis auction comes around.

I bought this lovely Maitland-Smith table on August 9, 2024, at least it looks lovely in the pictures. It was picked up on October 1, 2024, by my regular shipper, someone who was recommended to me by an auction house and who I worked with for a few years. I paid him to bring me this table along with several other pieces of furniture, which were delivered over a period of several months. Sadly, this table never reached me here in Virginia. The shipper chose to break off all communication with me after telling me that I would have the table after Christmas 2024. It's now March 2025. This piece has a retail value of well over $1, 000, so for me as a dealer, this is a substantial loss. After establishing a rapport with this gentleman over the past two years, I'm disappointed that he chose to steal from me. I realize now that I can't trust anyone and that I should stick to using uShip where there is accountability for these shippers. They don't get paid until the merchandise is delivered. This has been an expensive lesson for me to learn! The five-star rating is for this auction house, Dennis Auction Service. They are professional and have responded to my inquiry about this situation, which I greatly appreciated.
