Hollywood Legends - Classic

Julien?s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies present A Day of Classic Hollywood, an auction that promises a wide variety of lots that aren?t typically seen on the block, and ones that we?re confident you will want to bid on! Our first special collection includes many items from award-winning playwright, screenwriter and novelist, Paddy Chayefsky, who is most famous for his films ?Marty? from 1955 and ?Network? from 1976. Those two titles only scratch the surface of what this genius accomplished in his lifetime, and by looking through our online catalogue, you will see for yourself what he contributed to our popular culture. We will also be offering a number of beautiful and rare collectibles related to American treasure and world entertainer, Josephine Baker. You may only know about her famous banana skirt now, but during her heyday in the 1920s, she was a household name. She capitalized on her popularity by introducing a wide range of products with her name and likeness on them which were sold in both fancy department stores as well as everyday drug stores. Julien?s has some of these very rare pieces on offer now, including gorgeous Art Deco jewelry, figurines of the star herself made of various materials and in various poses, hair products, and trinket boxes, amongst other unique treasures from almost 100 years ago! The auction continues on with pieces from our beloved ?classic? movie stars ranging from Rudolph Valentino to Dennis Hopper, and of course we will have a variety of lots related to our favorite silver screen ladies, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland. Additionally, there will be a nice selection of award nomination certificates from Piper Laurie ? ranging from her excellent work in ?The Hustler? in 1961 to ?Carrie? in 1976 to ?Twin Peaks? in 1990 ? quite a unique body of work spanning over 30 years. There is also a completely fresh to market collection of documents and ephemera from Daniel O?Shea. Though not a household name, O?Shea was David O. Selzni
