Hello Sir, You purchased lot 157-the 1860 Sam Houston signed land grant for $900 in our September auction. The lot was a little more important than just a piece of paper. When you signed up for the auction, you agreed to our terms of sale, which state that we do not ship. In each lot of our auction, there is a shipping tab, it further states that we do not ship and lists options. When you received the invoice that you paid (Thank you!), it included information that we do not ship, it further included active links to the several shippers we do suggest, however you are free to choose anyone. When you reached out to the gallery, I promptly replied, asking who you chose to ship your item. I even provided you with the list of shippers in case you had not made arrangements. We are an auction gallery that sells approx 1500 lots per month. We do not have the staff or insurance to ship. Thank you for picking up your item and visiting our gallery. Dear Sir, I am sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase. I can find no history of a phone call or email from you regarding your dissatisfaction. AAG has been in business for 40 years and strives to be accurate and clear if we are unsure about an item. There are 1019 reviews listed for AAG on the Live Auctioneers platform with 967 being either 5 (897) or 4 (70) stars. We are rated 4.75 stars out of 5. We are always happy to provide as much information and additional images to aid in a bidding decision prior to bidding. The catalog description for this item states that we "believe" the piece to be 18th OR 19th century. We are not armor experts and based that on what the consignor was told when the piece was purchased. Furthermore, in the same listing, there is a statement urging the bidder to ask for further information. We answered over 350 questions for the 3 weeks leading up to the auction, including requests for information and additional images. The only correspondence that I have from you was sent during the live auction event: Jun 26, 2022 10:15 AM CDT "Is this wearable?" to which I replied Jun 26, 2022 10:16 AM CDT "Hello, I would suggest not. Thank you." Again, I am sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase, and I am sorry that you did not reach out to us.
