Measuring 2'2'' x 3'4'' (66 x 102 cm), this leather cape was worn by a married Maasai woman and is adorned with a profusion of glass beads, tassels, and buttons. The Maasai people have a rich tradition of dressing according to age and gender groups. Young Maasai women typically wear leather skirts adorned with a multitude of necklaces.
