An early 18th century English George I Period grandfather clock by "John Austin, London" (worked 1702-1725). 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with arched Brass dial and Silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, cast Brass spandrels and lower date aperture. Burl Walnut case with feather inlaid detail and edge banding features a hood with a flat molded top, over arched filigree panels and a glass dial door flanked by turned columns over a long waist door with arched top and a lower base with molded plinth. Older refinishing with some restoration, minor veneer damage, running when cataloged. 88" high. ESTIMATE $3,000-4,000
