1893 .22 RIMFIRE BRASS GATLING GUN WITH TRIPOD, MADE BY KARL FURR & PAUL KUHNI. Cal. 22. S# 2. Bbl. 6". Police Model 1893 miniature gatling gun chambered in .22 Rimfire mfg. by Karl Furr and Paul Kuhni. Top of the receiver is marked "Gatling Gun Company/ HARTFORD CONN/ POLICE MODEL 1893/ NO 2 CALIBER 22", with "made by/ Karl J. Furr & Paul Kuhni/ Orem, Utah Jan 1972" marked on the underside. Brass construction with full length brass bbl. cluster housing. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, feed tray, internal cyl., pintle, and elevator lever. Rear sight is absent. MAGS: 1 matching Accles pattern "donut" 61-rd. drum mag. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching brass tripod with matching handle. CONDITION: brass retains a dull patina, exhibiting scattered spotting and areas of verdigris. Mirror bores, retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, although action is notably stiff at approx. the 2 o'clock position every cycle. Accles "donut" mag. currently does not function, exhibiting impressions around the edges of the backplate that hinders movement of the rotor and does not allow the backplate to be properly threaded, creating a tighter than standard fit in the mag. well. A very attractive, early, and desirable Furr miniature gatling gun. PROVENANCE: Norm Flayderman family collection. (25-2127/MLW). CURIO. $5,000-7,000
