Antique German Cross-Stitch Schoolgirl Sampler

Description

An antique German cross-stitch schoolgirl sampler worked in red thread by Anna Korner in 1906. Such samplers were traditionally created by young girls as both a record of educational achievement and a demonstration of needlework skill. The text reads “Erinnerung an meine Schule 1906 Anna Korner” and is accompanied by two cherubs flanking a floral wreath. Housed in a wooden frame. Measures approximately 11 3/4″ H x 12 1/2″ W. In good condition with light wear to the frame consistent with age.
