Cut Down Percussion Drum Conversion of a US Model 1795 Musket with Decorative Additions
.69 caliber. 22" barrel secured by a single spring retained flat barrel band. NSN. Heavily oxidized metal, iron furniture, walnut stock. Single shot percussion altered musket cut down and decorated with tacks and a spurious "Western & Atlantic Railroad Confederate States of America" shield shaped plaque. Musket appears to have been a cone in barrel conversion at one point in time and is now fitted with a precision drum conversion bolster. Retains a single sling swivel on the triggerguard and has a reproduction tulip head ramrod in the channel. Lock with no markings other than a series of punch dots. An interesting decorative gun with spurious enhancements but an attractive appearance. {ANTIQUE}
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
Condition
Fair. Bore dark, dirty and pitted. Metal heavily oxidized with pitting. Lock mechanically functional. Wood well worn with an old crude repair at the upper rear of the lock and numerous scattered bumps, dings and mars.
