
**1942 J.P. Sauer Und Sohn K98 Mauser Rifle

7.92x57mm. 23.62" barrel length. SN: 5713n. Blued metal finish mounting replaced laminated wood stock, bright buttplate, and leather sling. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips, and mounting adjustable tangent rear notch with fully hooded front blade sights. Receiver shows the cursive script ce marking indicating it was made by J.P. Sauer und Sohn, followed by a date of 1942. Item shows the WWII German Eagle view mark on the left barrel and left receiver, along with two {Eagle/37} waffenamt marks on the barrel, one to the top of the receiver, and {Eagle/359} mark to right receiver. The replaced stock is non numbered on the butt, and mounts a non numbered bright buttplate. Serial numbers match on bolt components, receiver, barrel, magazine floorplate, trigger plate, barrel band, and sight components. Metal markings are worn, indicating refinish. {C&R}

Condition
Good as Refinished. Bore is Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Blued refinish is thin overall with a gray to brown patina forming on the barrel band and exposed barrel. Stock with some white residue to right wrist, and light handling scratches. Sling shows some crazing and abrasions.
