Good pair of items signed by notable Confederate generals, includes: THOMAS T. MUNFORD (1831 - 1918) Confederate brigadier general who succeeded Turner Ashby under Jackson, and was engaged in many of the decisive battles of the war, including Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, and Appomattox. Signature in black ink on a 3.25 x 2 in. card, adding his rank ‘Brig Genl 1st Brig Cav. A[rmy of] N[orthern] V[irginia]’. Shows a few spots of soiling, with mounting remnants on the verso, else very good to fine. WITH: JOHN T. MORGAN (1824 - 1907) Confederate brigadier general of the 51st Alabama, he fought at Bull Run and Chickamauga, and harassed Sherman from Atlanta to Savannah. Bold signature in purple ink on a 3.25 x 4.5 in. card, adding ‘Alabama’. Shows a pencil identifying signature and mounting remnants on the verso, else very good to fine. Two pieces.
